Massfeller LLC is the legal umbrella for a small portfolio of personal software products published by Ryan Massfeller. The company exists so the apps it ships have a real entity behind them — a domain, a privacy policy, a contact address, and somebody whose name is on the line if something breaks.

This is not a startup. There are no investors, no advertisers, no analytics SDKs, and no plans to grow into one. Each app under the umbrella is built for a specific small audience: a single household, a women's traveling golf league, a sixth-grader's science fair, a family with kids in school. The user count we optimize for is "the people the app is for."

The work

Four apps live under Massfeller LLC as of this writing — see Apps for the full list. They share a small set of operating principles: no advertising, no third-party tracking, real legal terms, real privacy policy, real human support, and a hard rule that data is never sold or shared with brokers. Each app gets the engineering rigor it deserves and the marketing budget it doesn't.

The owner

Ryan Massfeller is the company's sole member. His professional background is in digital forensics, incident response, and physical security testing — almost twenty years of computer forensics work spanning municipal law enforcement and corporate investigations. He spent four years as a sworn law enforcement officer and certified forensic computer analyst with a Colorado district attorney's office, working internet crimes against children and serving as a court-recognized subject matter expert. He has taught advanced forensics in the United States and in Tallinn, Estonia, and has spoken at industry conferences including a 2026 conference keynote on the unconventional paths through cybersecurity.

Before forensics, he worked as a newspaper columnist with weekly circulation in the six figures, a licensed real estate broker, a licensed travel agent, and a regional IT network engineer. Most of those jobs left a useful imprint on the way the LLC's software gets written.

He lives in Jacksonville, Florida with his wife Kristina and their two sons. The apps mostly emerge from things their household — or someone close to it — actually needed.

How we operate

The operations philosophy is simple: minimum vendor surface, no advertising or tracking SDKs, hardware-backed credentials on operator accounts, and a hard rule that data is never sold or shared with brokers. We do not add vendors to the stack casually; when they process user data on our behalf, they are named in our Privacy Policy as required by law. Source code lives in private repositories owned by the LLC; open-source releases, if and when they happen, will be announced on the relevant app's page.
